TRENTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Dade County is making progress on a storm shelter project.

Crews were pouring concrete today for Storm Shelter Number 1.

That will be at the Dade County Sports Complex on Highway 11 south of Trenton.

This is the first of three proposed storm shelters in the county.

They will build concrete bunkers at each location that can hold 265 people.

They will be open during all tornado watches.

The other locations will be in Rising Fawn and on Sand Mountain in the Davis community.
