Dade County receiving more than $600,000 for water main upgrades

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock announced on Monday that Dade County will soon be receiving water main line upgrades.

The federal government is investing $2.7 million in infrastructure upgrades in North Georgia through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Appalachian Regional Commission.

As part of this, Dade County will be receiving $618,250. That funding will go toward an upgrade for 8,000 feet of water main lines.

This will be a two-part project, with upgrades going along Vanguard Industrial Road and State Route 299 near Trenton.

This system services residential and commercial customers. It also services a medical facility, according to a press release from Senator Warnock.

State officials explain these upgrades will improve service for 139 businesses and 1,409 houses. It will also increase water capacity at the Trenton-Dade Industrial Park, which will allow new businesses to locate there.
