Dalton baby chosen as 2018 Gerber Spokesbaby
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — A Dalton baby is the Gerber Spokesbaby!
Gerber announced the winner of its eighth annual Gerber Spokesbaby contest on Wednesday.
Lucas will be the first Gerber baby with Down Syndrome.
Eighteen month old Lucas Warren of Dalton was chosen from a photo search of more than 140,000, Gerber says.
Lucas will be the face of Gerber for 2018 and will be featured on the company’s social media channels.
Gerber says Lucas will also see $50,000 which his parents, Cortney and Jason Warren, tell Gerber will go towards his education.
In a news release, President and CEO of Gerber Bill Partyka says, “Lucas’ winning smile and joyful expression won our hearts this year, and we are all thrilled to name him our 2018 Spokesbaby. Every year, we choose the baby who best exemplifies Gerber’s longstanding heritage of recognizing that every baby is a Gerber baby, and this year, Lucas is the perfect fit.”
Gerber says the judges loved Lucas’ glowing and giggly smile.
His mother, Cortney Warren, says in the release, “This is such a proud moment for us as parents knowing that Lucas has a platform to spread joy, not only to those he interacts with every day, but to people all over the country. We hope this opportunity sheds light on the special needs community and educates people that with acceptance and support, individuals with special needs have the potential to change the world – just like our Lucas!”
