DALTON, Ga. — The Dalton Convention Center (DCC) is celebrating the holiday season and America’s birthday with a new CommuniTree.

3rd and 4th-graders from city and county, public and private schools were invited to decorate wooden ornaments provided by the DCC, the DCC says.

Each ornament has a patriotic theme and includes a ribbon color representing the student’s school.

More than 600 students participated.

The ornaments are now on Christmas trees inside the Convention Center entrance.

These trees and decorations will return in July for America’s actual 250th birthday celebration, the DCC says.

They invite families and visitors to come by and admire the children’s work.
