Dalton man sentenced on child molestation charge

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – A Dalton man has been sentenced to 19 years on a child molestation charge.

55 year old Anthony Marshall Ponders was convicted a couple of weeks ago.

Prosecutors say Ponders exposed himself to a child.

A Family member walked in on them and called the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

The witnesses against him at trial included a person who said Ponders sexually assaulted them as a child.

This was the second trial of Ponders after some evidence from another previous witness was accidentally introduced in the first one.
