Dalton PD Replace Door After Making Forced Entry Into The Wrong Home

Dalton PD were looking for this man, Eric Ashton who actually lives at 1150 Whittle drive.
Officers blame fog and rain for mistaking the door numbers.
Jason Parker, Dalton Police Chief,"A case like this involves a significant amount of risk to the people who lived at the house and also to the officers who were going in because of the unknown factors behind that door."
A shocked Justin Faulkner and his wife were behind that door of 1138 Whittle Drive and had no idea what was happening.
"We were at home watching tv that was all we were, it was just a mistake."
Dalton PD have ordered a replacement door for Faulkner and Thursday morning took neighbor Eric Ashton into custody.
Ashton is currently being held at Whitfield County jail, he faces multiple charges for possession of meth and marijuana and was previously detained back in 2014.
Ashton also faces a charge of possession of tools for commission of crime.
Some Dalton residents say they are concerned by this mistaken forced entry.

Dalton PD say they are reviewing exactly what happened Tuesday and may apply changes to training when they have more information.
