Dalton Plans to Honor Jahmyr Gibbs With Jersey Retirement Ceremony
Former Dalton running back Jahmyr Gibbs was obviously one of the best players to come out of our area in recent years.
The Catamounts plan to honor the stud tailback hopefully this season with a ceremony to retire his jersey.
Gibbs rushed for over 48-hundred yards during his high school career.
He then played college ball at Georgia Tech and Alabama before going in the first round of the NFL draft earlier this year to Detroit.
Kind of a no-brainer that Dalton high school wants to honor Gibbs gridiron accomplishments.
Said head coach Kit Carpenter:”We want to celebrate the achievements that Jahmyr had and we’ve got some special things lined up. To retire his jersey at some point, we’ll get together some plans and we’ll move forward from there. With his schedule the way it’s going to be, it takes a little bit of time to get it planned out, but that’s something that has been in the works really the day after he got drafted.”
