Dalton Police arrest 53-year-old in sexual assault case
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — Dalton Police have arrested 53-year-old Philip Kevin McKinley in connection to a sexual assault case.

A report was filed with the Dalton Police Department (DPD) on February 12, 2025 by a woman who was performing community service as part of her probation at the Dalton Convention Center.
The woman told DPD that McKinley, who was the maintenance and janitorial services supervisor, touched “intimate parts of her body without her consent while she was at work.”
According to DPD, she also told them McKinley “proposed paying off probationer’s fines and reporting increased amounts of community service hours in exchange for sexual favors.”
DPD conducted an investigation into these allegations and were able to obtain arrest warrants for McKinley.
McKinley ended up turning himself into the Whitfield County Jail, Tuesday, March 4.
He is being charged with the following:
- Sexual Battery (2 counts)
- 2nd Degree Sexual Assault by a Person with Supervisory or Disciplinary Authority
