Dalton Police arrest Morris Innovative student

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – Dalton Police make an arrest after a student was robbed near Morris Innovative High School. 17-year-old Jose Juan Ramirez is being charged with being a party to the crime in connection with the January Incident. That means he may have helped in the crime.

Police say the victim was walking with his girlfriend when they were approached by Ramirez and another person, both dressed in black pants and hoodies.

Bruce Frazier, Dalton Police spokesman, said “As he was leaving campus, these two people basically walked up to them; told them to stop, tried to keep moving. One of them pulled out a gun pointed at his head and stole a gold chain he was wearing around his neck. At that point he got away and ran back to the school.”

Ramirez was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center.

Dalton police are still looking for other suspects.
