Dalton Police hope you can help identify cash thief

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Dalton Police hope you can help identify the woman officers say stole $40 in cash that was accidentally left behind at a self-checkout station by a woman Friday morning.
It happened just after 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at the Walmart on Shugart Road.
A woman using the self-checkout area to pay for her groceries got $40 in cash back after paying with a card, but accidentally left the money in the dispenser.
After she left, another woman used the same checkout station and could be seen on surveillance taking the money out of the dispenser and putting it in her right pocket.
The victim realized her mistake almost immediately and came back to check for her money, even asking the suspect if she had seen the money or taken it.
The suspect reportedly replied that she had not seen the money and left the store.
Police say she left in what appears to be a red Ford Escape or similar style SUV.
