Do you recognize the woman who withdrew the case here from an account there?
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Dalton police are investigating the case of a woman who withdrew $7,500 at local banks that belonged to a woman in Florida.
They believe the suspect used stolen bank account information and a fake ID to steal from the Florida victim.
That victim from Palm Harbor contacted Dalton Police in early November, saying the money had been withdrawn from her savings account at two local regions banks here.
The first withdrawal was for $3,500 at the West Walnut Avenue branch and the other was for $4,000 at the East Walnut location.
Bank employees said she used a Florida ID with the victim’s name. Investigators say it was a fake.
Investigators say the suspect was able to answer several security questions about the victim.
Police say the woman wore a gray zipper hoodie under a tan jacket with blue jeans.
And she was a passenger in a white four-door Toyota Camry.
They have surveillance photos of both the suspect and the vehicle.
If you recognize either, please contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
