Dalton Police Investigate Late Night Homicide
Dalton police investigate a fatal shooting that occurred shortly before midnight.
Authorities say they received a call about shots fired in a parking lot around 11:40pm last night.
Officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest, laying on the ground, in the parking lot of 214 North Easterling Street.
Emergency crews took the man to the hospital, where he passed away.
Authorities say they do not have a suspect in custody.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
