Dalton Police investigating prescription fraud case
DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Dalton Police are investigating a prescription fraud case.
They say a man used a fake prescription to get a controlled substance and then returned to try it again at the same pharmacy.
Investigators say the Kroger pharmacy got a faxed prescription for codeine in November.
But the next day, another Kroger pharmacist from Warner Robins called the Dalton location to check on an identical prescription.
They determined it was a fraud and called police.
Then a day later, the Dalton pharmacy got an identical prescription request, but from a different patient and a different doctor in Montana.
They have surviellence video of the man who picked up the first prescription.
If you recognize him, please contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
