DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The Dalton Police Department (DPD) is asking the public for help with identifying a suspect who stole two birds from a pet store.
On August 22, 2024, an employee was cleaning out the bird cages at the Petland store at 1349 W. Walnut Avenue.
While cleaning, she found two of the expensive birds were missing from the cage.

With the cages not being locked, he proceeded to put the birds in his vest and walk out.
The suspect had a beard with salt and pepper hair, wearing a trucker style hat, a black vest, gray shirt, and blue shorts.
These birds combined are valued at $4,000.
One of the birds was a multi-colored caique, priced at $3,000 and the other was a mostly yellow sun cheek conure, valued at $1,000.
