UPDATE: Dalton Police say missing man has been found

Dalton Police say Tipton has been found and is safe.


DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — Dalton police are searching for a missing 41-year-old man, they announced on Friday. They are looking for Timothy Tipton, who his family reported missing on November 9.

He was last seen on Tuesday, November 7 at the Whitfield County Extended Stay on Chattanooga Road. After Tipton’s family reported him missing, Dalton Police found that his hotel room had already been cleared out.

People staying in nearby rooms said they last saw him on Tuesday. That was also the last day Tipton’s family heard from him by phone, police stated.

Tipton’s family also said he may be having a mental health crisis.

Police describe Tipton as 6’0″ and 230 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Tipton also has a tattoo on the left side of his neck, according to police.
