Dalton Police trying to identify man who shoplifted computers

UPDATE: Dalton Police say that with the help of social media, they were able to identify this man within 20 minutes. Police say they are seeking warrants now.


Dalton, Georgia (WDEF) — Dalton Police are asking for help identifying a man caught on surveillance cameras shoplifting two computers from Walmart.

The incident occurred between 7:00 am  and 7:30 am on Sunday, February 5th at the Walmart on Shugart Road.

According to police, the man stole 2 HP desktop computers valued at $649 each.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes, a yellow polo shirt, a tan jacket, and a camouflaged Tennessee Volunteers baseball cap. Police describe the suspect as older with a gray mustache and graying blonde hair.

Police say the man left in a white pickup truck.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity is asked to call Dalton Police Detective Jacob Burger at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 325.
