Dalton residential fire leaves $15k in damages
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – Dalton Fire Department responded to a house fire call that caused nearly $15,000 in damages and an attempt to resuscitate a dog.
The house fire call came around 1 AM Monday morning on 204 N Bogel Street after the female occupant noticed a fire beside a space heater.
After attempting to put out the fire, both male and female occupants evacuated the house.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found heavy smoke and flames at the rear of the structure.
After putting out the fire, heavy fire damage was surveyed in the living room, attic, and kitchen. All clothing and personal effects were deemed a total lost.
During the event, a dog was found and resuscitation attempts were made. No other additional injuries have been reported.
The Red Cross is currently helping the occupants during this time.
