Dalton Soccer Rallies For 4-3 Win Over Chamblee to Advance to State Semifinals

Dalton, GA-(WDEF-TV) Dalton rallied for an incredible 4-3 win over Chamblee in the state quarterfinals Tuesday at Harmon Field. Catamounts trailed 1-0 at halftime. Chris Lopez then scored on a header off a corner kick to tie the match at one. Luis Favela scored with a high leg kick to put Dalton ahead 2-1. Then disaster for the Catamounts. Keeper Israel Soria was given a red card, so he left the match,

and Dalton had to play a man down. Chamblee scored on a penalty kick as a result of Soria’s red card. That goal tied the match at two. Moments later, Travis Conner scored to put Chamblee up 3-2. So now Dalton was a goal down and a man down. No worries. Catamounts scored on a penalty kick. Then with under three minutes to play, Favela got free and used his left foot to skirt one past the keeper. Dalton wins 4-3 to advance to the semifinals.
