Dalton softball coach charged, fired after fight following game loss

A youth softball coach in Dalton has been charged and fired after a fight over the weekend.

Meredith Haskew Grant coached a Fury Platinum Softball team that was in a tournament over the weekend.

After her team was beaten badly, the teams met at the pitcher’s mound for mandatory handshakes.

But that’s when the fight broke out.

That fight was caught on video and has gone viral nationwide.

On the video, it looks like Grant attacked the opposing coach.

She was later arrested for misdemeanor battery and fired as coach.
