Dalton Unemployment Rises in July

The rate rose sixth tenths of a percent from June.

But the July number is still more than two points lower than last year.

Dalton lost about 200 jobs in July, mainly from layoffs in transportation, warehousing, local government and construction.

But the city has 1,900 more jobs than it did last July.
