Davis Tull Turns Sub 4.6 Forty Time at Mocs Pro Day
Chattanooga-(WDEF) Five UTC football players got a chance to impress NFL scouts at the Mocs Pro day.
The scouts had to be impressed with running back Keon Williams, who bench pressed 225-pounds a total of 23 times.
And the scouts had to like the speed of linebacker Davis Tull.
Over 20 NFL scouts were in attendance for the Mocs pro day at D-One Sports.
Tight end Fasal Shafaat said it felt like a mini-combine.
"It was kind of mind-blowing. They just kept piling in. I walked in at nine o’clock, and there were probably ten or twelve, and they just kept coming in. There were 20-something just lined up watching your every move. It was kind of neat."
Said Keon Williams,"It was kind of intimidating. But we prepared for this moment our whole lives. Mostly everybody here had dreams of playing in the NFL. It’s kind of what we expected."
Linebacker Davis Tull was the Chattanooga player drawing the most looks.
He took part in the NFL Combine a couple of weeks ago, but he did not run the forty because of a bad hamstring.
His hammy was still sore on Monday, but Tull still managed to turn a 4.57 forty time.
"My hamstring tightened up a little bit halfway through. I think I still got a decent time for what it was. I can’t complain right now. I feel pretty good about it."
Tull just wants to finally get healthy before the draft.
"Well, I’m going to have surgery on my shoulder. I actually played through a shoulder injury last year. I need to get it fixed now. I’m getting that fixed this week. I’ll be rehabbing and hopefully meeting with some teams and waiting for the draft."
Shafaat is confident an NFL team will give him a shot at making their roster.
"Well my agent right now said at the combine, the tight ends didn’t do the best. They said it’s kind of a mediocre tight end group. Depending on what these numbers look like, my agent is saying anywhere from seventh to priority free agent. He has confidence i am going to end up somewhere."
