Deceased person found in Monteagle town limits

The Monteagle Police Department (MPD) says they are aware of community concerns regarding the recent discovery of a deceased individual within the town limits.

They say at this time, the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has assumed primary responsibility, and they are working in coordination with the MPD.

The MPD says a statement with confirmed details will be released by the TBI and the MPD as soon as additional information becomes available.
