The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and Rainsville Police Department conducted a year and half long investigation into identifying the suspect.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Brandon Lee Croft was indicted by a Dekalb County Grand Jury for manslaughter in the death of Zachary McClendon.
According to DCSO, McClendon was found unresponsive in his residence and was later pronounced deceased back in March of 2023.
