DeKalb County search warrant leads to meth trafficking arrests

DEKALB COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) —  Three people in DeKalb County have been arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2025, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 121.

During the search, DCSO located 48 grams of methamphetamine and other various drug paraphernalia.

DCSO said three were arrested as a result of the search.

Richard Dewayne Floyd is being charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug
  • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Failure to Appear (2 counts)

Shelbie Morgan Scott and Brandon Lamar Brownfield are being charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug
  • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Loitering in Drug House
