DeKalb sheriff arrested on public indecency charge

ATLANTA (AP) – Jail officials say a sheriff in suburban Atlanta has been arrested on obstruction and public indecency charges.

Local news media report DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey Mann was arrested by Atlanta police Saturday night. He was taken to the Atlanta city jail, and has since bonded out.

Mann said in a statement that he is working with the city of Atlanta to clear the charges.

Police has provided no more details.

Mann is DeKalb’s 49th sheriff and has served in the department for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1981 to 1985.
