DeKalb County woman arrested for child abuse
DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WDEF) — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Crossville woman for child abuse and torture.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said they arrested Jessica Lindsey Nation on March 16.
Police said a grand jury delivered six indictments: three for abuse of child, torture/willful and three for aggravated child abuse.
The Alabama Department of Human Resources received reports of abuse and neglect in 2021. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office then started investigating.
Sheriff Welden said, “We appreciate everyone that helped with this arrest. Protecting our children will forever be our main focus. Our youth is our future, we have to stand strong in protecting them. God bless!”
