Delta flights delayed as system gets back to normal on Monday

ATLANTA (WDEF) – Delta Airlines reports an automation problems caused cancellations that continue to ripple through the system on Monday.

The airline cancelled 150 domestic flights on Sunday at several airports including Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport.

The company says another 80 have been cancelled for Monday and more may come.

So far in Chattanooga, one flight has been scrubbed this morning, a 5:49 AM Delta flight to Atlanta.

Three others have been significantly delayed ( Detroit more than 5 hours, Atlanta 1:45, Atlanta 37 minutes)

Just before midnight, Delat announced that their IT systems had returned to normal and a ground stop was lifted.

“I want to apologize to all of our customers who have been impacted by this frustrating situation,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement.

“This type of disruption is not acceptable to the Delta family who prides itself on reliability and customer service.”
