Delta Queen Sold
The Delta Queen steamboat has officially been sold.
The new owners are The Delta Queen Steamboat Company based in Delaware.
They want to return the boat to passenger traffic along the U.S. river system.
But it will take a lot of work to get the 1927 vessel sea worthy again.
DQSC President Cornel Martin says “Our goal is to have the Delta Queen return to cruising America’s waterways in 2016 following extensive mechanical and hotel renovations."
The Delta Queen will leave Chattanooga where it has been used as a moored Hotel for the past five years.
It heads to Louisiana for its makeover in March.
