Delta’s Power Outage affects some Chattanooga Passengers

While Delta Airlines continues to try to resolve their power outage issue… Dozens of people at the Chattanooga Airport are forced to alter the plans for their trips.
News 12 spoke with some of those people and shares how their dealing with the delays and cancellations.
Several Delta Airline customers waited in line Monday morning waiting to hear if their flights had been cancelled or delayed.

“The flight’s canceled. They haven’t told us anything. We’re trying to get our bags and then decided what to do from there. They’re not putting us on any other airlines, they haven’t done anything yet. We’re just all waiting”, said Tammy Crestwell A Delta customer.

The Crestwells were looking to hop on board a plan and take off to take off for one more family trip before the end of summer vacation.

“We were really upset because we’ve been planning this vacation before school starts next week.”

Delta’s power outage canceled more than 400 flights affecting thousands of passengers and their schedules.

“All of our connections messed up. Our hotels and everything changed. So we’ll just have to regroup”, said Crestwell.

While the power outage disrupted many people’s plans some customers said that weren’t bothered by the situation and don’t mind waiting it out.

“I was headed to Louisville Kentucky. I’m a job core student so I’m headed that way, but our flight got delayed. It was supposed to leave at 10:45 but its leaving at 12. It’s really not a big deal to me, I’m patient so I’ll wait “,said Raekwon Bunion.

The Spokesperson for the Chattanooga Airport released this statement about the situation it said in part:

“…Regardless of what airlines you are using, we always urge passengers to check with their carrier prior to arriving to the airport for travel.”
Delta has issued an apology to their travelers and offered details about refunds and change fee waivers.
