Deputies charge neighbor with murder in Polk County mountains
BENTON, Tennessee (WDEF) – Deputies have charged a suspect in a murder in the mountains of Polk County.
County officers found the remains of the victim on Fingerboard Road, north of the Ocoee River.
They have not identified the victim yet because the next of kin have not been notified.
On Tuesday, deputies arrested 58 year old Mitchell Edward Mingie for the crime.
They are charging him with Second Degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse.
Officials say the suspect was a neighbor of the victim.
