Deputy charged with DUI after a wreck

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputy has been charged with DUI.

Deputy Nicholas Monroe was involved in a crash on I-75 near the East Brainerd Road exit.

He was off duty at the time.

Chattanooga Police charged him with DUI and other infractions.

The deputy is a five year veteran now in the Patrol Division.

He has been put on administrative leave with pay during an internal affairs investigation.
