Disorder Suspect tased by Hamilton County Deputy, dies in custody
HARRISON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Officials say a man causing a disorder was tased by Hamilton County Deputy and died in custody Sunday.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:50 pm Sunday deputies were dispatched to the Massengale Hollow in Harrison on a report of a person causing a disorder.
Officials say they were made aware of a person causing a disorder and deputies made contact with 35 year old Jeremy Allen Conn.
Deputies say Conn ran from them. The sheriff’s office says once he was caught, he began to fight with deputies.
Officials say deputies used a Taser to “gain control of Conn.”
Hamilton County EMS was called per agency policy after he was restrained. This is department policy anytime a suspect is tased.
While waiting on EMS, Conn became unresponsive.
Deputies say they began administering CPR until EMS arrived.
Conn pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.
The Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified.
Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave with pay.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is conducting the investigation.
