Do we need more judges in southeast Tennessee?

NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Do we have enough Judicial workers to handle the caseloads in Southeast Tennessee?

A new report from the state Comptroller’s office says we don’t.

The office is required by state law to evaluate the work loads in each district.

Our region, including Hamilton County is generally understaffed.

Statewide, the report found we need 22 more judges.

The report now goes to the state Judicial Redistricting Task Force.

They have to redraw a new plan by next year.
