Dog found dead in Highway 58 house fire

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Highway 58 Volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire on Sams Smith Road Friday afternoon after a neighbor called 911 reporting a loud explosion.

They found heavy smoke coming from a crawl space and fire on the side of the house.

No one was home.

Firefighters quickly put out the blaze, but did find a dead dog under a bed.

Damage is listed at $15,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
