Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala coming to CBS on Wednesday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dolly Parton recently held a Pet Gala in Nashville.
It was all for fun, according to Dolly. The event featured big-name artists performing Dolly’s biggest hits. There was even a pet fashion show.
But before the music, many of the celebrities took to the pink carpet.
“Well, I think we’re here just to have fun, all of us. I’m very flattered and honored that a lot of the artists that we wanted to come be on the show were able to do it,” Dolly said.
But what did the guests say about being invited to the gala?
“You know, when Dolly asks you to do something, you just say yes,” said TV personality Carson Kressley. “And then you figure out the date and the travel and the details and what you’re doing later. And here I am.”
Kelly Osbourne, TV personality, singer and daughter of Ozzy, said she has met Dolly before. But that did not eliminate her excitement.
“I’ve met her a few times, yeah. And I’m really excited because after we’re done with the carpet, she wants to meet my baby. So, I’m taking him in there,” Osbourne said, who recently had a baby boy.
Iain Armitage, an actor who stars in Young Sheldon, may have been the most excited to meet Dolly.
“I was over the moon. And the second I heard even a snippet of a detail, I just heard Dolly Parton and dogs. And I was on the plane,” Armitage said.
Needless to say, everyone was excited to see Dolly.
But what is a pet gala?
“Now, I know this first look is something near and dear to you, Dolly. It’s the one that started it all. And here’s the lovely Liv, wearing a look inspired by the much beloved and famous coat,” said actor Jane Lynch, who co-hosted the Pet Gala with Dolly.
“Look at that little coat of many colors that my mama made for me out of a bunch of scraps,” Dolly added.
Dolly recently released her own pet fashion line called, “Doggy Parton.” The gala featured an array of dogs who touted the fashion line. Celebrities of all sorts joined in the festivities, all by the request of Dolly herself.
Some celebs brought their dogs as well, such as country singers Chris Janson and Carly Pearce.
“They are wearing Dolly. They’re wearing the Doggy Parton line. Johnny and June are my little pride and joys. They’re my children,” Pearce said.
Everyone dressed up for Dolly, not just the dogs.
“It’s rock and roll glam, I believe, was the theme,” Carson Kressley explained.
He even wore some fun shoes for the event. “They’re leopard, but they’re not real. So, no leopards were harmed in the making of these shoes,” Kressley added.
To see all the fashion and fame, you can watch Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala on CBS this Wednesday, February 21. It will be a two-hour special, which will air at 9 p.m.
