Dorie found: Assistance dog stolen from non-profit found

MILTON, GA (CBS46) – Volunteers with Canine Assistants said a service dog-in-training stolen from their facility was returned on Wednesday.

Officials said Dorie, a 3-month-old Golden Retriever, was handed to a couple outside an Atlanta-area Publix, along with a note. The dog was taken to the Georgia SPCA before they called the group to tell them the great news.

Officials had offered a reward of thousands of dollars for the dog’s safe return. And look at that face, who wouldn’t?

The non-profit group said was stolen from her kennel the evening of Sept. 3 or early on Sept. 4. and service dog in training was last seen as volunteers locked down the kennels on Saturday.

They said, along with the dog, her service vest and other equipment was stolen.
