Driver in vehicular homicide crash has history of DUIs

SALE CREEK, Tennessee (WDEF) – A man charged with vehicular homicide in a deadly crash last week has now had four DUI cases on his record.

31 year old Colton Drake Clingan was charged with vehicular homicide after his vehicle crashed head-on into another on Dayton Pike in Sale Creek last Thursday.

A passenger in the other work van was killed.

The driver was hospitalized.

DUI was one of the eight charges filed against Clingan.

A deputy said he had DUI’s on his record in 2011, 2020 and 2022 plus a drug history.

Authorities had also gotten a call that he was swerving in his lane before the wreck.
