Drivers to expect delays, lane closures on I-24 in Chattanooga

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Department of Transportation says they will be doing concrete repair on I-24 from the Highway 27 ramps to the Long Street area.

Monday through Wednesday night, there will be lane closures on I-24 and the westbound off ramp to Highway 27 north. The closures will take place from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Ramps may be temporarily closed during this time as well.

There will be one lane closed on I-24 eastbound and westbound.

During this construction, Highway 27 southbound traffic onto I-24 east will be detoured onto the Broad Street ramp.

Traffic will take the new Frontage Road and then get back onto I-24 eastbound at the Market Street on ramp.

Drivers should expect potentially long delays during this work. CDOT asks that the public takes an alternate route around this area.

Additionally, they say for the weekend of February 10-11, traffic will be down to one 11-foot-wide lane.
