Driving Our Economy Forward: Card Monroe Corporation
HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — Card Monroe Corporation bills itself as the world leader in tufting technology.
News 12 is going beneath the surface to show you how Card Monroe is living up to that “turf title,” and driving our economy forward.
“With carpet it’s like a big sewing machine,” said Zack Monroe, Card Monroe’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It’s actually made upside down. So you have a primary backing, you have a set of needles in which you’re tufting into. And then the carpet then is made. In simple form, we make the machines that make carpet, artificial grass, and rugs.”
Monroe says they’re the number one tufting machine supplier in the world.
“We have a very global footprint here at Card Monroe where we are literally impacting the world,” he said. “Our employees that come work here get to be a part of that. Currently we have 180 employees. We’re continuing to look at different avenues to find employees such as partnering with Chattanooga State and Sequoyah Vocational School, and continue to promote ourselves in spots like these. We’re a 37 country install base, so we go to trade shows all over the world and promote our product. We can’t take the machines with us so what we do is actually we show the end use.”
Card Monroe has 20 positions available that it’s looking to hire.
“We’re also continuing to strategize around our business and business development, and contain our growth plan,” Monroe said. “We only anticipate continue to hire more and more as we move into the future. We’ve been around for 42 years and we have a lot of people in this company that have been working here for 20, 30 years. And I think that says a lot about our culture, our culture of taking care of people; not treating someone as a number.”
