Driving Our Economy Forward: Divine Goods
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) — Sometimes gift giving can be a challenge, but Divine Goods in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee wants to make it easier on you.
The website has plenty of gift boxes to choose from to find that perfect present for birthdays or other special occasions.
Let’s see how Divine Goods is driving our economy forward.
“Divine Goods is an ecommerce site that specializes in gift boxes,” said Adelaide Naumann, CEO/Owner. “I do gift boxes for birthdays or special occasions, anniversaries. I also do corporate gifting, which is a big part of my company. I believe in a handwritten note, as my grandmother taught me, and then we ship it for you, or we deliver locally.”
Naumann says she started Divine Goods after her youngest daughter graduated from high school.
“I just thought, ‘What the heck am I going to do now?’ So I started this business in my basement, and it was my children’s playroom when they were little. I just converted it into this,” she said.
You can choose a pre-curated gift on divine-goods.com.
“We have just tons to choose from, and they’re all labeled for her, for him, for them, for kids, food. And then we also have a segment that is a build your own gift. And so, if you want, you can choose a gift box or a basket that we show on the website, and you can fill it with whatever you want.”
Naumann says the Small Business Development Center has been a big help.
“They keep me on track,” she said. “They look at my numbers and make sure that I am where I need to be financially, and that I’m making good decisions for my business. I have no regrets. I’m really glad that I started the business. It’s been hard, but it’s been fun. It’s challenging, but it’s fulfilling. And I love what I do. I get to be the gift giver year round. Just to see the smile on people’s faces, they’re like, ‘Why are you here?’ I’m like, ‘It’s not for me, but Happy Birthday, or So sorry for your loss.’ And just to see the smile on their face, they’re just so grateful. And it’s a really good feeling.”
