Driving Our Economy Forward: Fablerealm
CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. (WDEF) — One North Georgia Airbnb is turning some fairytales into reality.
Fablerealm allows both locals and visitors alike to step into their favorite Disney or Harry Potter movie.
Let’s see how Fablerealm is Driving Our Economy Forward.
“My mom’s favorite films are the Harry Potter films. And this one is mainly based on the Gryffindor common room and the dorm room,” said Rachel Rogers, primary artist and manager of Fablerealm Farms.
“Welcome to Fablerealm Farms. We tried to make every stay a magical escape from the day today,” said owner of Fablerealm Farms, Kristi Bubrig.
“We have a bunch of wands. Actually, we used to only have a few in here but when people come to stay, they will leave their wands, or they will be like I really want to leave my wand that I got from Universal here so that other people can enjoy it,” Rogers said.
“We began the concept; we bought one property, and we were going to make it a retreat. A place just to go and hang out. Rachel had the idea to take a suite that was attached to one of our properties and make it into a Harry Potter suite. And then it just kind of unfolded it from there. We took our favorite stories and made them into a magical stay,” Bubrig said.
“A lot of our units have hidden rooms for slightly harder to find rooms. And we will get phone calls, saying that we cannot find the beds; we talked them into finding the hidden room and walk them through it,” Rogers said.
As for their Harry Potter themed rooms, “we have the Dorm Room, the Burrow and Hagrid’s Hut, which was one of our places that we all wanted to visit. We all wanted to be in, so we decided to create it,” Bubrig said.
“So, this is the Grounds Keeper’s Hut. We can’t go in today because we have guests, but all of the doors are nine foot tall, because Hagrid needs to be able to get through his front door,” Rogers said.
The farms have other themed rooms as well.
“The others would be the Castle Stay, based on European castles and the hidden treasury rooms, and things like that,” Bubrig added. “And then Indiana Jones.”
“This is from Temple of Doom. It used to light up, but I think people have played with it enough that I need to replace the batteries. But it used to be that if you put your fingers in the right spot, it would go (humming sound) oh yeah,” Rogers said.
“We have a lot of guests who are on their way to Florida, to Universal Studios or Walt Disney World, and they make this a dedicated stop on their way so that they can stay in one of these spaces. And then we even had people say that they scrapped the rest of their vacation and are staying here,” Bubrig explained. “Our properties, because of Rachel’s diligence, are accessible for the most part. Not every single property is, but most of them are accessible properties. So, we want it to make sure that everybody could come and enjoy the space.”
“Come see us at Fablerealm and step out of your day today. And do a scavenger hunt and watch a movie snuggled up with whoever you want to snuggle up with on the couch. And roast marshmallows outside over a fire and look at the stars. And come to see us and take a break,” Bubrig continued.
