Driving Our Economy Forward: Insane Paintball/Airsoft

ROSSVILLE, GA. (WDEF) —  It’s a premier paintball, airsoft, and nerf facility in Rossville Georgia.  Insane Paintball started serving customers in 2000.  If you are looking for a location to have a birthday party or just a fun afternoon with friends Insane Paintball has plenty of options.  Today with are featuring the 24-acre playing facility in this week’s Driving our Economy Forward.

“We offer several different activities.  We offer, paintball, airsoft, gel ball and Nerf.  Gel ball and Nerf, we gear it more towards the 5- to 8-year-olds before they get old enough to play paintball.  We start paintball at eight.  We recommend airsoft around ten.  So, we have something for the little guys all the way up to the adults and older kids,” said Jered Powell, the owner of Insane Paintball/Airsoft

“You know, we rent equipment and have all the necessities, for players come out and have a great first experience on themed fields.  We really focus a lot on the new player experience.  Birthday parties, bachelor parties, youth groups.  So, one of the really cool things about our business is that we get to work with a lot of, first time job applicants, high school, college age kids that are just kind of get their feet in the working world and they’re excited to maybe land a first-time job or a second job,” said Jered.

“We work really nicely around, everybody’s school schedules. You know, we have a lot of kids that are still in school, so. So, they’re looking for weekend part time work, that sort of thing. What is really neat is, you know, we are an excellent, resume builder. So, as you know, guys and girls stay with us for a little while and they start getting a lot of good customer service experience working with groups, birthday parties, that sort of thing,” said Jered.

“You know, they are also building good references for, for future jobs. It’s really cool for us to be able to help them, you know, pursue their future endeavors and be successful. I mean, literally, we’ve had, former employees have gone to do everything, after college to, to teachers, I think everyone that has heard it has now a neurosurgeon, we’ve got guys that are in all branches in the military, including, you know, including the special forces that have been through our staff,” said Jered.

“So, it’s really neat over the years, how many, you know, young men and women we’ve gotten to see really become successful. And, and a lot of times we hear back from them years later and they’re like, man, like, I got a really good first job opportunity with you guys and made great friends, great memories. And it really taught me a lot about the workforce and how to be successful and, and work with a team or work with customers,” said Jered.

“It is rewarding to look back and see, you know, a lot of those as they move on and their lives, become successful and productive in the, in the working world,” said Jered.

“It’s definitely taught me a lot of patience. Just dealing with people and customers and taught me that customer satisfaction is the number one thing in the industry, whether that be the paintball business or any other business. Working with my dad has definitely been a very fun experience, very rewarding as well. It’s challenging at times, but it definitely pays off,” said Emma Powell, daughter of Jered Powell.

“It’s also taught me a lot about money and the value of money,” said Emma.

“Yeah, working at insane is real fun. Kind of learned how to interact with customers, and it’s been good as a first job. I like it a lot, and its real fun,” said Paul Champlin, an employee at Insane Paintball/Airsoft.

“I’ve been playing paintball for about 15 years, and it’s always been my home field. They provide excellent field, excellent, job opportunities for the youth as they’re coming in. Great first-time experience,” said Dai Harris, a regular patron at Insane Paintball/Airsoft.

“One of the biggest, gifts of this to us is watching people just have a great time and give them something exciting to do, you know, and create good memories and friendships while they do it,” said Jered.
