Driving Our Economy Forward: Mid South Equipment
Mid South Equipment has been serving customers in the Tennessee Valley for more than 30 years.
They sell products like telehandlers, mulchers, masonry equipment, power tools, and compressors.
Tonight, we learn how their experience and knowledge continue to help drive our economy forward.
“Welcome everybody to Midsouth equipment. Midsouth equipment was founded in 1993 in February, been in business over 31 years. And we started out catering to the masonry contractor and the concrete contractor. And as years went on, we got more manufacturers that we could uh sell and service and stock parts for. And we just grew and grew and grew,” said Roger Wallen, President and owner of Mid South Equipment.
“Tell me some of the things you guys lease,” said photographer David Moore.
“All JCB equipment which is your yellow iron, from uh big excavators, big wheel loaders, down to skid steer loaders… uh and load offs; telescoping boom forklifts,” said Wallen.
“What we have here is a lamb track LTR 6160. A good operator can clear 5 acres of land in an 8 hour day with this machine. And that’s getting after it. This is the kind of machine that could save your money and turn your whole operation around. Uh we sell these all the time, uh comeb by and see us,” said Andy Beck, a Mid South Equipment sales employee.
“Well the clientele that we cater two are the masonry concrete excavating utility contractor. Uh we have over a 100 lines of manufacturers that we represent. And we can cater to every contractor,” said Wallen.
“It really depends on the size of the job and the amount of concrete you’re mixing. If you’re mixing a lot of concrete it’s invaluable I mean it can do the work of I don’t know three or four guys just working all day long. Um so it’s, it really will be your best employee on the job site,” said Beck.
“We only rent to the commercial contractor and commercial businesses and residential contractors. We’re problem solvers. When that phone rings somebody’s calling in for help. They either got a project coming up and they need to lift this material 66t up in the air and they got to handle 8,000 lb. we’ve got that. Or they have a problem with the machine. They talk to the service department. Mr Aaron Bixby, great guy. Does a great job for us. And Mr Joe Guffy does our parts. So we try to help the customer be a One-Stop shop. We offer delivery, pickup. We’ve got uh service guys on the road. We have service truck, service department, parts department. We have it all. Everything we sell we back it up with service.
