Driving Our Economy Forward: Street Quesadilla

Street Quesadilla Now Open for Business after Fire Damages Food Truck

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Everyone is always looking for a new spot for lunch.  Street Quesadilla has been serving up tasty Mexican food for years. Let’s look at how Street Quesadilla is literally driving our economy forward.

A few months ago, owner Ginnette Reyes said her food truck caught on fire. She was devastated.

“I was coming back from one of my events that I was coming back from, 40 minutes away from home, and then while I was driving, my food truck caught on fire. And I had to stop in the middle of the highway,” said Reyes.

Reyes said she never planned to give up and kept pushing forward to make her business even better.

“I was without work for six months or just a little bit over that. And then just trying to make it work, to have some kind of income. And I was still doing caterings. I was still doing things for my clients and trying to work this out until we got a location after six months,” said Reyes.

On Wednesday, her food truck was back open, serving Tennessee Valley residents tacos and quesadillas daily.

“It was kind of like I wanted to give up, to be honest with you. It was tough. It was hard. But then I kept pushing.”

The business is located in the North Shore area.
