DRUG TAKE BACK: “Don’t become an accidental drug dealer” by not disposing of unused medications properly
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Saturday was National Drug Rake back day.
Several agencies across our area come together annually to do what they can to combat the opioid crisis and to protect the environment.
Law Enforcement officials say unused prescriptions often end up in the wrong hands or the wrong place.
They say the first thing you can do to help is to get rid of any prescription medicine properly.
Officials were set up all over the county collecting them because it is never okay to throw them in the trash or flush them down the toilet.
People were also able to shred sensitive documents as well.
ALSO TODAY, for another 30 minutes, you can bring your unused/expired medications and sensitive documents to these locations. Don’t leave them in your cabinets! @CHI_ memorial @BlueCrossTnNews @BCBSTennessee @ChattanoogaPD pic.twitter.com/1lCgW6s3HZ
