Dunlap highway lane closures upcoming

DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — Upcoming roadwork in Dunlap will result in lane closures over the span of several days.
The City of Dunlap posted to social media on Thursday to alert the public of the upcoming roadwork.
They are asking drivers to use caution when traveling through the area of Coops Creek on Highway 127 and Rankin Avenue.
The city said crews will be making improvements to storm water drainage. They will place a large storm drainage inlet basin on the side of the road, according to city officials.
Construction will begin on Monday, January 8.
Crews will close the southbound lane of Highway 127 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
They will also install temporary traffic lights during construction.
The city said both north and southbound lanes will be open for two-way traffic during the day, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Construction will last around three to five days, according to the city.
They add that drivers may use Main Street or Elm Street to avoid the construction and lane closures.
