Duracell expands in Bradley County, new jobs to come
BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Duracell Manufacturing is expanding operations in Bradley County. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee made the announcement on Tuesday.
Duracell is a global battery manufacturer. They already have existing battery component manufacturing operations in Bradley County.
However, the company is planning to invest another $25 million to expand its current operations.
Officials said this will create 25 new jobs as a result.
It will also support their LaGrange, Georgia site. The Duracell expansion will do this by supplying battery components and exceed their growing North American battery demand.
“Duracell Manufacturing’s 60-year commitment to Tennessee is a true testament to the highly skilled workforce in Bradley County,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter said. “We thank Duracell for its additional investment and job creation in Cleveland and the opportunities the company will provide.”
The plant in Cleveland opened in 1961. It has been providing Duracell brand batteries since 1964.
TNECD has been continuously supporting economic development projects in Southeast Tennessee since 2019.
