Early voting still underway in local counties
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF)- Early Voting is continuing in Both Tennessee and Georgia.
“Where you have seen a long line. People are moving through there very quickly and it is just a testament that voters trust the system, and they trust the results, and so we are just really pleased with that,” said Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger
Folks in Walker and Hamilton County took time on Tuesday to cast their vote.
Voters in Tennessee will decide among various categories including Tennessee Senate, U-S Senate, Tennessee Representative, and U-S Representative.
Brent Rainey considers it a privilege to make his vote count.
“It is important to come out and vote because it is a civil duty you know somebody who came before me did not have the opportunity to do this and it is always important, as a citizen of the United States to cast my vote on who I will choose to represent my country. The way I see fear in the way that best suits me and my family and my loved ones,’ said Rainey.
Down in Walker County, Voters will decide on the Board of Education, State Senate and more.
Voters in Tennessee and Georgia will cast their ballot for the U-S Presidential Election.
Raffensperger says his office continues to see record turnout.
“This morning we are at 1,594,000 votes have been cast. Now, We are over 1,650,00..670. We will be over 1.7 here shortly, I do not think we wil hit 1.8 today, but we will hit it early tomorrow,” said Raffensperger
And Raffensperger believes every vote matters.
“I am encouraging every voter come out, vote at the end of the day, we are doing this for you. Your vote matters. We know that because every voter matters. So please come out and vote,”Raffensperger concluded.
