East Hamilton Hires Shaw Gamble as New Head Baseball Coach
(press release) Shaw Gamble will lead Baseball Operations effective immediately. Gamble replaces Matt Ramsey who went 20-14 in District Play and 35-51-1 in 3 seasons with the Canes. Coach Gamble says, the opportunity to lead the quality program at East Hamilton was attracted him. Coach Shaw leaves immense success at Roane State Community College where he helped to led measurable improvements in multiple offensive categories including stolen bases and on-base percentage. At Bradley as an assistant, Coach Gamble helped to led the Bears to a 3A Runner-Up State Championship. Coach Gamble’s proudest moment continues to be helping with developing scholarship athletes through the Tennessee Nationals Baseball Organization out of Knoxville.
Coach Gamble said “I want to thank the administration at East Hamilton HS for trusting me to shape the future of East Hamilton Baseball, and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to not only win a lot of games, but also teach student athletes how to take chances and succeed in the game of baseball while preparing them to win the game of life. We have already hit the ground running, and I can’t wait for the start of the season.”
School Principal, Brent Eller, commented that Gamble comes to us with a wealth of player development experience at many levels. His knowledge and passion for the game is a great fit for our goals to advance the program for our student athletes. We are very excited about the future of East Hamilton Baseball.
Athletic Directors, Eric Mountain and Keitha Booker, commented that Coach Gamble is a natural fit at East Hamilton and has already brought positive changes to our baseball operations. I feel excited for baseball season. They said of Shaw Gamble and the selection process, “I am proud of the effort put into this coaching search. When we started the process, we were not only looking for ‘a coach’ but ‘THE COACH’ to lead the program into the future. Our admin team spent a considerable amount of time with this process and did a tremendous job of narrowing down to our top candidates for the job.”
