East Ridge MAPCO raising money for injured police officer

One of the gas pumps at the East Ridge MAPCO off of I-75 on Ringgold Road that is raising funds for officer Alan Resendiz.
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF)- An East Ridge gas station is hosting a fundraiser for a hometown hero.
Officer Alan Resendiz was injured back in July while putting down spike strips during a police chase.
He has since been released from a hospital but still has months of recovery ahead of him.
For the entire month of September, the MAPCO gas station on Ringgold Road right off of I-75 will be raising money for his recovery efforts.
Ten cents of every gallon on pumps 15 and 16 will be going to the officer.
Felica Wilson, the Store manager for that MAPCO, said, “We’re absolutely loving the fact that we get to do this. Officer Resendiz is one of our regular customers, and we consider him a family member at 3680.”
Suspect Ta’Bious Wheat continues to be held at the Whitfield County Jail in relation to this incident.
